SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES (2023-NOW)

The distortion in this series of self-portraits was achieved in-camera through a long exposure.This body of work draws inspiration, in part, from The Platters' song "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" as it delves into the concept of twin flames and the illusory aspects of desire and love.In twin flame connections, a strong sense of recognition often exists, with one's inner self, emotions, and desires appearing to reflect in another. However, it raises the question of how much of this experience is projection.

Twin flame connections are rooted in intense emotional bonds that can be deep and leave an imprint on the heart and mind. Even when the physical presence of the twin flame is no longer there, the idealized memories can be potent enough to influence our perception, as if a figurative "smoke" has blurred our vision.“when a lovely flame dies, smoke gets in your eyes
